Pre-interview information
Before the interview, we will ask you to give or send us any
marketing materials and we will go through your web site at length.
We will be trying to learn more about what your company does and what
makes your products or services special.
Interview
We want to learn more about what you do. We will ask
questions like:
- What do you do better than any other company?
- Why is your product or service special?
- What benefits does your product or service offer?
Customers
We need to know who your customers since they are the target audience for
which we are designing your web site. We will ask questions like:
- Who are your customers? Are they regional? National? International?
- Do you have any demographic information?
- Do you get any feedback from your customers in the form of emails, phone
calls, or surveys? What is that information?
- Have you conducted any focus groups?
- Have you conducted any user groups?
- Have you monitored any customer blogs or discussion groups?
- Have you conducted any surveys?
Additional interviews may be required to clarify information and/or speak to
other company departments/members like sales or customer service.
Web site statistics
If you have any web site statistics, we would love to see the reports. If
possible, we would like to see the following information:
- What is your current conversion rate?
- What is your average order size?
- How many leads do get from your web site?
- How many pages views?
- What pages show a high drop-off rate?
- What are the user paths (paths user take through the web site)?
The information gathered in this stage of the process provides the basis of
the persona and user goal development in the next stage.
